About Me

I’m a professional software developer based in Scottsdale, AZ, with over 33 years of IT development and experience.

I started out in the early 80’s building custom software and games for Apple IIc/e machines.  I also would work night shifts at Waste Management at their corporate data center processing jobs and writing tasks in TSO, ISPF and Phoenix and operating/programming DASD devices.  Most of the mainframe hardware consisted of IBM 3090 machines, tape drives and reel-to-reel drives.  I eventually moved to the IBM PS/2 platform and started creating custom software applications and games in DOS, then in DOSShell, and when Windows came out in the late 80s, for the Windows platform.

For 12 years, I worked at Harrah’s Entertainment, specializing in Slot Performance planning and analysis, machine performance, diagnostics and repair, and gaming systems administration (Bally SDS).  I traveled often for their corporate office, sometimes internationally, demonstrating custom software solutions assisting with tracking of “capped” slot machines and real-time bill acceptor rejection monitoring, as well as to teach other slot departments and IT staff SDS operations, design, troubleshooting and customization.

For 6 years, I was at Casino Arizona, developing custom Enterprise software solutions on multiple platforms.  I converted their Data Transfer operations from SQL DTS (SQL 7) to SSIS, converted their reporting infrastructure from Business Objects and Crystal Reports to SSRS, converted their intranet from DotNetNuke to MOSS 2007 and eventually SharePoint 2010, and wrote numerous customized solutions benefiting individual departments by facilitating their day to day operations.  I steadfastly attempted to move the company to a “paperless” environment by converting their regular forms over to either custom SharePoint 2010 Features and Solutions, or creating custom InfoPath 2010 forms and publishing them to SharePoint, with SP workflows handling form routing and permissions, as well as assisting the other IT staff with their capital projects as needed.

I’m currently a .Net/SharePoint Software Developer for General Motors, building custom ASP.Net and SharePoint solutions for internal business units.

In addition to this, I operate a consultancy developing custom websites and software solutions to individuals and local businesses.  Some examples of recent work can be found below (some examples are not available due to NDA):

Currently MCTS certified in SharePoint 2010 Application Development and MOSS 2007 Config, MS certified in HTML5/CSS3 and Javascript and MCPS in application development, I’m working on finishing up MCSD certification in SharePoint 2013 Development.
